Spinster

She lived a life that some would describe as being on edge. She drove a Ford Explorer and lived in what the same folks would call a mansion.

She had a hard wood table from which she worked morning and night and a beautifully decorated room whose door opened towards the main gates which she called her office.
Yet, she was a spinster.  “Having all these is the problem” family and friends would often say and she would be left to wonder if she were to loose the success to find herself a man.

Today, all of that has changed, against the usual belief of her family and friends, she sat there while he held her hands staring “Such lovely eyes you got” and she couldn’t help blushing. This one man had been brave enough to talk to her,  where she was sitted lost in the crowd.

‘You are not intimidated by me?’

“No, I am intrigued by you” he said and poured them a glass of wine.

I like. Reminds me of scenes from a movie I watched. And the fact that most people see a successful woman as ‘chasing away’ potential suitors. My question. .. should you be less of yourself to fall in love?
